1. Introduction
Additional Guard is an unreliable computer security tool, designed to make a profit by deceiving user using various methods of intimidation.
Additional Guard is installed on the victim's PC via fake online scanner, which performs sham computer verification for viruses, thus indicating that hard drives have been infected by viruses and Trojans.
In order to convince victim that the computer needs immediate assistance, additional Guard will attempt to prove false existence of viruses by displaying warning alert messages or generating exaggerated computer scan reports.
To get rid of simulated threats that allegedly infected the computer, user will be asked to buy licensed Additional Guard version, but all of it is a fraud - even when you pay for "full" program version, it will not be able to cope with viruses posing serious risk.
